Kung fu is a proven ‘treatment’ for those modern ‘ailments’ we hear about everyday in the media.
We’re unfit, unwell, overworked, overstressed, overweight, not fit enough, not healthy enough, we have no time, no self esteem and no balance in our lives.

Defending yourself is a skill that CAN be learnt. Defend yourself against a knife, stick or an unarmed assailant, develop confidence in your own abilities and the attitude and discipline to succeed in life.
Unfit, overweight or uncoordinated?
While you are building your self defence abilities, you are also giving your body a full workout. It takes strength, fitness, coordination, balance, focus and control to practice the weapons forms and the subtle movements that make this Chinese martial arts so effective as a means of self defence. At Golden Lion we build on this, --- we don’t expect you to start fit, but we will help you become fit.

There is no ‘type’ at Golden Lion, even our instructors don’t come in ‘one size fits all.’ They are tall, short, male and female, young and old and from all walks of life. What they do have in common is that they practice the traditional values and finer human traits that Golden Lion believes in and practices --- respect, patience, tolerance, humbleness and calmness --- and they have all experienced the physical and mental benefits of Kung Fu at Golden Lion Academy.
Our fitness and self defence classes for children and adults, males and females, are a complete mind and body programme that builds you to Black Belt level and beyond.
