Assistant Kung Fu Instructor Joshua AlfredKung Fu assistant instructor Joshua Alfred is a 5th grade student who is preparing for his 1st Degree Black Belt examination. He has been training for over 6 years, and with over 3 years of instructing experience under the rigorous and direct instruction of Sifu Craig Rayner. With an intense passion for the martial arts, Josh is determined to the improvement of himself his fellow students. His passion for the art has led him among many avenues of KF. He trained specifically in Wushu (highly competitive forms) under the strict supervision of Sifu Steeve Kiat. He has developed himself and continues to develop the realistic and combative applications of sparring and Dim Mak (pressure point fighting), where he studies under the Grand Master, Dai Sifu Pier Tsui-Po. On a more personal level, Josh feels the single decision to take up KF has been one of the best decisions he has ever made. “Kung Fu to me is more than just punching and kicking. It is a way of expressing oneself physically, mentally and emotionally.” He continues, “All that philosophical thought aside, though it is important and very true; let’s not forget that in the end KF really is just a whole lot of fun.” - Commenced training at the Murrumbeena Centre, 2001
- Silver Medallist – Golden Lion Sparring tournament 2003
- Won 2 Bronze Medals – Golden Lion Forms tournament Adult Division 2002 (aged 14)
- Bronze Medallist – Golden Lion Forms tournament Adult Division 2003 (aged 15)
- Bronze Medallist – Golden Lion Forms tournament Adult Division 2004 (aged 16)
- Over 2 years of extensive training in Dim Mak (on going from 2006)
- Allan Hall Memorial Trophy Winner for Most Improved Student 2007
- Receives in-house instructor training
- Over 3 years of teaching experience
