Si Hing Troy Dawes

Kung Fu (KF) instructor Troy Dawes has always been a martial arts movie fan. He is an extreme sports lover and idolises Jet Li. Through watching many Chinese martial arts movies, he was attracted to KF over all other martial arts because of its style and characteristics.

Si Hing Troy has gained a large number of benefits through KF. When he first joined the Golden Lion Academy in July 2001, his initial goal was to learn to control stress and emotions, due to his professional life causing constant pressure. Martial art training and meditation practices learned through the Golden Lion have allowed him to have more control.

Troy was accredited to coach KF under the National Coaching Accreditation Scheme in 2004, and is still currently teaching KF to Children at the Berwick Academy. He has competed in a number of Golden Lion tournaments and state championships.

Si Hing Troy's future intentions through martial art training is to learn more about himself through extensive ongoing KF training that involves both physical training and spiritual development.

His enthusiasm and determination has lead him to develop his skills through the Golden Lion. He has recently travelled to China to train with one of China’s most respected KF Masters, Master Wu Bin, which was a great honour for Troy, as Wu Bin was Jet Li’s teacher.

Placed 4th AKWF Victorian State Championships, Nan Gun, 2006

Placed 5th AKWF Victorian State Championships, Nan Quan, 2006

Achieved 1st Degree Black Belt , 2007

Trained at Shaolin Wushu Institute, China under the guidance of Master Wu Bin, 2008

Over 4 years teaching experience

Accredited KF Instructor with NCAS
